Grace E. (Nellis) Bellinger

St. Johnsville - Grace E. Bellinger, 89, a life long St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Monday November 23, 2020 at Little Falls Hospital.

She was born November 9, 1931 at the family farm house in the Town of Minden, the daughter of the late Adin and Ella (Settle) Nellis. Grace was educated in Fort Plain Schools. 

On January 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to James Ogden (Oggie) Bellinger at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. Johnsville. The couple shared a blessed union of 46 years until the passing of Oggie on December 25, 1995. 

Grace was last employed at the former Little Falls Footwear in St. Johnsville. At one time she worked at the former Pete's Restaurant and the cafeteria at the St. Johnsville Central School.

Grace's life was centered around her family, she adored the quality time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her younger years she enjoyed cooking for her family and was always looking for new recipes for her loved ones to enjoy. Grace  was fond of visiting with her friends and look forward to playing her weekly "chicken foot" game.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Getman and Donna Chapman and her husband Kim; a son, Allen Bellinger and his wife Brenda; eight grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Todd, Tiffanie and her husband Mike, Monica, Michael, Eric and his wife Christina, Aaron and his wife Michelle, Adam and Heidi; her great grandchildren, Aaron "Bub", Leila, Emily, Damien, Ethan, Blake, Madison, Lindsey and Collin; one niece, Leslie LaCourse and her husband Marty and a brother-in-law, Richard Bellinger.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Adin A. Nellis, Jr., and John Robert Nellis.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday December 5, 2020 at 11:00 am at the St. Johnsville Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040. All memorial contributions may be made to either the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department, 6 W.
