Herkimer - Geraldine Elnora "Geri" (Hopkinson) Arsenault, 75, of Herkimer passed away on Friday January 22, 2021.
She was born December 27, 1945 the daughter of the late George G. and Florence (Jordan) Hopkinson and was a graduate of Houghton Academy.
Geri was married to Leo Arsenault, Sr. on January 21, 1967.The couple shared a blessed union of 41 years until the passing of Leo on March 8, 2008.
Until her retirement, Geri was employed at Salada Tea in Little Falls, NY.
Geri was such a loving and kind person. She had a special way of always making you laugh and smile.
Her Faith in Jesus was her guiding light, and she was never ashamed to share that Love with anyone she met and knew. She would give freely of everything she had to anyone in need even if it were the shirt she was wearing or the food she was eating. Anyone who knew her knew she was a faithful, kind, friendly, loving, caring, thoughtful, and considerate daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed dearly.
Geri’s favorite thing was writing loving cards and letters to everyone she knew. She believed it would brighten your day to open your mailbox and find a loving letter inside. She would always put pictures inside the card of your favorite things. And you might even find money tucked in behind a picture once in a while. She would always say everyone can always use a couple extra bucks. It was always a surprise to open a letter and see what she put inside this time. This is something we all will miss very much!
Geri loved to go out to eat (especially “Yetty's spaghetti”) and was always willing to share meals with everyone and anyone. She believed in the importance of being together and that the perfect time to do that was over a family meal.
She was the perfect example of how important it is to love Jesus, love life, love your family and friends, always stay in touch with one another, laugh, and spend as much time together as possible.
