Gerald Sloan Obituary
St. Johnsville – Gerald A. Sloan, 90 a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Friday July 20, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, NY.
He was born January 19, 1928 in Richland, NY the son of the late Hiram A. and Fannie (Bushnell) Sloan. Gerald was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1946.
Mr. Sloan was a United States Air Force veteran, enlisting in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955.
Gerald was employed at the former Palatine Dye, Company until hi retirement in 1990.
He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain, the St. Johnsville American Legion, Morris J. Edwards Post 168, Fort Plain VFE Earl Stock Post 3275 and the Fort Plain Knights of Columbus Council 415.
He is survived by many friends in the St. Johnsville area.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday August 9, 2018 at 11:30 am at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
