Little Falls - Francis X. Kraszewski, Sr., 91, of Lynch Road, Town of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024, at home with the love and support of his family by his side.

Francis was born on September 8, 1932, in the Town of Fairfield at the family home, the son of the late John and Michalyna (Tyzska) Kraszewski and earned his education at West Canada Valley.

On September 1, 1951, Francis was united in marriage to the former Shirley McGraw.

Francis started his working career on the family farm working for his parents. He later delivered milk with his route from Newport to Herkimer. Fran worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway. His last employment was being owner, operator and logger of Kraszewski Contractors in Little Falls.

Francis was of the catholic faith and very proud of his Polish heritage. Family was of the utmost importance of Francis. He shared a deep and loving partnership with his wife Shirley for 72 years. The couple brought twelve wonderful children into this world with their many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their most enjoyable times were spent in their garage swinging on their swing and giving the grandchildren and great grandchildren fist bumps.

Francis's legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of his children and grandchildren and those fortunate enough to have known him. His devotion to his family will forever be cherished.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley; his 12 children, Sandra (Steve) Burdick, Barbara (John) Voelkle, Susie Fagan (Alan), Crystal Kraszewski, Debra (James) Huyck, Carol Kraszewski, Patricia (Benny) Milgore, Theresa (Keith) Yoworski, Michaline Kraszewski, Francis (Alyssa) Kraszewski, Jr., Jennifer (Renny) Blais, and Justin (Amber) Kraszewski; a younger brother, Thomas Kraszewski (who Francis cared for), 30 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, five brothers, five sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Denise Kraszewski.

In keeping with Francis wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses of Hospice and Palliative Care, especially to Ann Lindsey and his evening caregiver Tracey Macri for the care and compassion they have shown to Francis and his family during this difficult time.
