Town of Little Falls - Edward Gardner, 82, of (the Town of Little Falls) Mohawk, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Abraham House, Utica, NY.
Ed was born on January 29, 1942, in Little Falls, NY the son of the late Edward and Fannie (Guisto) Gardner and was educated in Little Falls schools.
On May 12, 1969, Ed married Helen R. Maine in Little Falls, NY. The couple shared a blessed union of 54 years until the passing of Helen on April 6, 2023.
Mr. Gardner belonged to the Local Labors Union of 60 years. He worked as a Mason at Alexander & Alexander Contracting and Gary Scialdo Pools. Ed was of the catholic faith.
Ed was an avid outdoorsman, he found much enjoyment fishing with his brother -in law and best friend, Ronnie Meays. If he wasn't fishing, Ed could be found at the local Stewart's shop for a cup of coffee and visiting with his friends.
Survivors include his children, Eddie Gardner and Sheila Burke and husband Scot; his grandchildren, Dennis (Tiffany) Lynch, Teisha (Jason) Burdick and Kendra and Evan Gardner; great grandchildren, Peyton and Kaleb Lynch, Riley, Braelynn and Delaney Burdick; his brother-in-law, Ronnie Meays and his family, Lisa and Mike; and cousins, Frank (Randy) Mathews and Cathy (Larry) Halloran.
He was pre-deceased by his sister, Marie Meays and his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Theresa Gardner.
In keeping with Edward's wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care and the Abraham House for the care and compassion shown to Ed and his family during his illness.
