Town of Oppenheim- Edward Homer Fletcher passed away unexpectedly at his home in Oppenheim NY on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
He was born May 16, 1971 in Herkimer the son of the late Homer E. and Jane R. (Edick) Fletcher.
He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, and earned his Associate Degree in Electrical Engineer from Mohawk Valley Community College.
He was a member of the union IBEW Local 43 in Syracuse. He was an electrician for over 30 years
Edward was a selfless person who had a deep love for music, culture and nature. He could always be found seeking comfort in the bible and loved every second he was able to be with his grandchildren. Family was his most treasured possession.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Barbara Edgar; his children, John Fletcher, Matthew Fletcher and his wife Megan; his daughter, Katherine Fletcher and her fiancée Chris Douglas; his grandchildren, Storm and Asher Douglas; a sister, Valerie Fletcher Claus; a brother, Scott Fletcher; his two nieces and nephews. He is also survived by an uncle, Cork Edick and aunt Sue Edick and many cousins.
He's predeceased by his parents Homer Edward Fletcher and Jane Edick Fletcher. His uncles, Jim and Skip; an aunt, Anne.
Funeral services will take place on Friday September 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. Burial will follow at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. the Family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday September 17, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of the services.
