Earl Stanley Obituary

Herkimer - Earl J. Stanley, 79, of the Town of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on April 17, 1946, in Ilion, the son of the late Herman and Dorothy (Youker) Stanley. Earl was a graduate of the former Stratford High School, Class of 1965.

Mr. Stanley was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was drafted on December 7, 1965, and was honorably discharged on November 27, 1967, with the rank of SP4.

Earl was united in marriage to the former Beverly J. Chrisman on August 19, 1995, in Little Falls, NY.

He was last employed as a truck driver for the former Curtain & Fabrics in East Herkimer. At one time he worked at the former Motronics.

Earl was an avid sports fan.  Besides watching his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees and his favorite football team, the New York Giants he also loved playing the sports.  He was the happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends, enjoying their company, debating issues and being a jokester at times.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years (29 yrs married), Beverly; three daughters, Cindy Cirillo and husband Peter, Jennifer McDonnell and husband John and Heather Manchester and husband Michael; five grandchildren, Nicole, Brittney, Nathan, Molly and Audrey; four great grandchildren, Rosalee, Derick, Killian and Theodore; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins, including two special cousins, Karen and James and a dear friend Connie Brown.

He was pre-deceased by two sons, William Moschetto in 1993 and Peter Moschetto in 2023, and a brother-in-law, Fred Chrisman in 2020.

In keeping with Earl’s wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.

The family would like to thank the VA Care Team who came to their home: Dr. W. Wolf, Cathy (Deerhunter) Dunham, Emily Volz, Kim Ferris, Sharon Pollock and Dr. E. Kennedy, also to the caregiver aides Crishonda and Cindy for the care and compassion shown to Earl and his family during this difficult time.
