Diane Miers Obituary

Diane Ruth Miers

December 2, 1945- January 10, 2025

Diane Miers passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, with her family members by her side.

She was the daughter of Richard Elsaesser, Sr., and Anna Elsaesser, who preceded Diane in death. Diane is survived by Richard Elsaesser, Jr., and his wife Rita Elsaesser of Richfield Springs, NY., Patricia Elsaesser and her partner Thomas Ducatte of East Stroudsburg Pa., and James Elsaesser of Saylorsburg Pa and his partner, Lori Rubin, Tenafly, NJ., as well as many nieces and nephews.

Diane was an avid farm girl, raised on “Diana Farms,” her family’s dairy farm in Centerville NJ. The name Diana, came from the combination of Dick and Anna, her parents' names. Throughout her life, Diane loved all manner of animals. She cared for the family Holsteins, the many pets, cats, dogs, birds, even a fawn that was injured and raised by Diane. Diane dearly loved her many Morgan horses. Her Morgans were Diane’s lifelong companions.

Diane graduated from Belvidere HS. She was a Registered Nurse and was employed for many years at Hunterdon Developmental Center, Clinton NJ, which provides services for men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Diane was passionate for the care and well-being of the clients whom she served at HDC.

In her adult years, Diane raised numerous champion caliber Morgan horses, showing them in a variety of settings and winning many awards with her beloved Morgans.

Diane was a beautiful woman who possessed a fiery, independent spirit and a love for others that was displayed through action. Upon retiring as a registered nurse, Diane cared for her father who was in ill health until his passing. Diane then cared for her mother for the remaining years of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
