Herkimer - David A. Humphrey II, 34, of East Herkimer, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2025, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in the Town of Kirkland, NY.
He was born on November 27, 1990, in Ilion, NY, the son of Kristie Collis Griffith and the late David A. Humphrey. David was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 2008, and he also attended Herkimer County Community College.
On June 1, 2019, David was united in marriage to Nichiah M. Comstock at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Utica, NY.
He was employed at Special Metals in New Hartford, where he held the position of furnace operator and melter.
David was a loving and caring husband, father and son. His life was centered around his loved ones. He was the happiest when he was spending quality time with his son, Kane.
David is survived by his loving wife of 6 years (and together for 8 years), Nichiah; his cherished son, Kane; his mother, Kristie Griffith and husband Richard; aunts and uncles, Karen Noble, Kathy Marollo and husband Pete and Ken Collis and wife Diane, his in-laws, April and Larry Trent; and cousins, Stefanie Noble, Becky and Andy Foster, John and Lina Marollo, Paul and Theo Marollo, Matt and Kelly Collis, Sarah and Scott Ghiocel, and Samantha and Tyler Doerr; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his father, David A. Humphrey on March 19, 2015, and his maternal grandparents, John and Amelia Collis and paternal grandparents, Robert and Doris Humphrey.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A prayer service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home, with Robert Nasypany, officiating. In lieu of flowers, all memorial contributions may be made to David’s family. Please contact Nichiah at nichiahc@yahoo.com on where donations may be sent.
