Cory F. Niznik

Utica – Cory F. Niznik, 42, of Utica, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 4, 2021.

 He was born February 28, 1979 in the Town of New Hartford, the son of Richard and Vickie (Vore) Niznik.  Cory was a graduate of Frankfort Schuyler High School. After graduating he furthered is education at a Heavy Equipment Trade School in Syracuse.

 For the past four years, Cory was a Correction’s Officer for Mid State Correctional Facility in Marcy, NY.

 Cory was a devoted father and a loving fiancé, always putting the needs and concerns of his family first. He loved to cook. In his leisure he was an avid fisherman, he loved music but most important to him was spending time with his children and work was also very important to him. 

 Survivors include his parents, Richard and Vickie Niznik; his fiancée, Kayla Moynihan; two daughters, Bailee and Sophia Niznik; a son, Brayden Niznik; a sister, Nichole Niznik; two brothers, Ricky Niznik and his wife Stephanie and Randy Niznik and his wife Denise; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by Kayla’s loving family who loved him so much for the man he was and the devoted father he was to his children. He is also survived and remembered by his extended family in blue, his second home, at Midstate Corrections. 

 A celebration of Cory’s life will take place on Sunday August 15, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday August 15, 2021 from 4:00 pm until the time of the services at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a fund for Cory’s children. Donations may be sent to Kayla Moynihan, 1031 Tilden Ave., Utica, NY 13501.
