Cindy M. (Sawyer) Grainer

Little Falls - Cindy M. Grainer, 58, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

She was born on May 4, 1968, in Little Falls, the daughter of Sandra (Monahan) Jones and the late Richard H. Sawyer. Cindy was a graduate of Dolgeville High School.

For 25 years, until her retirement Cindy was employed by the Little Falls City School District.

Cindy enjoyed the quality time she spent with her family, especially visiting the lake and walking on the beach. In her leisure, Cindy enjoyed visiting with her neighbors, playing cards, and Yahtzee.

She is survived by her mother, Sandra Jones; her daughter, Shohna Grainer and Tyler Mattox; her cherished grandson, Oliver Mattox; two sisters, Kim Hoteling and husband Doug, and Tammy Crane. Cindy is also survived by her neighbor and cherished friend, Hope Gray; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her father, Richard H. Sawyer and her brother, William Sawyer and wife Luann, and her step-father, Robert Jones.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to Hannaford Markets) 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
