St. Johnsville – Charles A. Fitzpatrick, 97, a lifelong St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born on August 19, 1926, in St. Johnsville, NY the son of the late Arthur and Julia (Mosher) Fitzpatrick and was educated in St. Johnsville, NY. Charlie was also pre-deceased by his stepmother Catherine (Thompson) Fitzpatrick.
His marriage to Henrietta (Kougher) Frederick took place on October 10, 1976, in the Town of Canajoharie, NY.
Charlie worked for many years at both the former Palatine Dyeing Company in St. Johnsville and the Beech–Nut in Canajoharie, NY.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Henrietta; three daughters, Linda Capece–Morley and husband Richard of Johnstown, Kathy Bruno and husband Gordon of Vernon, and Colleen Horender and husband Wayne of Little Falls; two step–daughters, Cynthia LaCelle and Robin Duesler and husband Andrew; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Kenneth) Smith, Anthony (Renee) Capece, Angela Bruno, Stacey Genther, Justin (Erin) Horender and Alyssa (Alex) Countryman; 8 great grandchildren, Britton and Sophie Smith, Charlotte Capece, Ashlyn and Camryn Genther, and Rhyland, Carson and Isaac Countryman, 8 step-grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Janessa Sheldrick, Justin LaCelle, Sr. (Brittany), Jill Coffin (Jacob), Samantha Duesler, Andrew Duesler, Jr., Kaitlyn Westberg (William), and Allison Duesler; and 18 step-great grandchildren, Payten, Ashley and Cadence Johnson, Justin LaCelle, Jr. and Maci and Willow LaCelle, Dakota Snell, Aaliyah and Isaiah Ugalde, Josiah Coffin, Austin Leon, Stephanie, Haley, Kelly and Emma Sheldrick, Jason DeVito, Deegan Gifford, and William Westberg, Jr.; and 3 step-great great grandchildren, Colton Palmer, Sadie Cooler and Gabriella Snell.
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 12:30 pm at West St. Johnsville Cemetery, Town of St. Johnsville. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S.
