Carol J. (Finehout) Baum

Little Falls - Carol J. Baum 83, a longtime Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on December 9, 1942, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Harry L. and Harriet J. (Dibble) Finehout. Carol was a graduate of Herkimer High School and also earned her Associate’s Degree at Herkimer County Community College.

Carol was married to Thomas R. Baum, who preceded her in death on August 2, 2024.

For many years, Carol was a teacher’s aide at Benton Hall Academy in Little Falls, NY.

Carol’s life was centered around her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Tom. She also valued the quality time she spent visiting with her sisters.

She is survived by three sisters, Peggy Streeter, Elizabeth West and husband Robert, and Jan Knapp and husband Edward; a brother, Timothy Finehout and wife Joan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her brother, Thomas Finehout on June 23, 2024.

In keeping with Carol’s wishes, funeral services and burial at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to Hannaford Markets) 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
