St. Johnsville - Blaze J. Andrilla, 68, a longtime St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital, Utica, NY with his loving family by his side.
He was born on September 22, 1956, in Little Falls, the son of the late Raymond and Eva Dean (Countryman) Andrilla and was educated in St. Johnsville schools.
Mr. Andrilla was a United States Marine Corps veteran, enlisting on June 20, 1974, and was honorably discharged on December 2, 1974, receiving the National Defense Medal.
Blaze was first married to Linda Slater who predeceased him in 1995. On December 12, 1998, Blaze was united in marriage to Bonita (Bonny) Hoffman at the family homestead on Klock Road in St. Johnsville.
Mr. Andrilla was last employed at Century Linen & Uniforms in Johnstown, NY. Prior to that, he worked for many years at the former Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, NY.
Blaze was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, whose life was centered around his family. In his leisure, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took much pride in serving his community, being an active member of the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years.
Survivors include his son, Raymond D. Andrilla; his wife of 26 years, Bonny; her children, Matthew Lasher, James Lasher Jr, and wife Lynn and Kristina Souza and husband George; grandchildren, Katherine McGuire and husband Brian, Gillian and Nicolaus Lasher, great grandchildren, Alphina, William and Phoenix; a sister, Michelle Dygert and husband Randy, a brother, Roy Andrilla and companion Dawn Birdsall, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service with be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Johnsville Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the locally owned and family operated, Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
