Beverly Puznowski Obituary

St. Johnsville – Beverly A. Puznowski, 88, a lifelong St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Friday January 8, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on June 22, 1932, in St. Johnsville. She is the daughter of the late John and Martha (Mosher) Rockefeller. Bev graduated from St. Johnsville Central High School and continued on to Nursing School where she became a Registered Nurse specializing in Maternity.

She was married to John Puznowski on May 3, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2001.They were blessed with 48 years of marriage, 4 children and many adventures in their journey through life with each other. Bev worked at the former Amsterdam Memorial Hospital for over 45 years on their maternity floor. She continued her calling in medicine even after her retirement...working in local school districts, an allergist office and making home visits for many friends and family. Her remarkable career as a maternity RN speaks for itself. Many patients, doctors and nurses knew her as “pudgie”, a nickname that still brings a smile to many people’s faces when thinking of her. Beverly was a giver.

She gave herself to her family and dedicated her life to helping others in any way she could through medicine, the church, and family. She always had an open door, everyone was welcome. Mrs. Puznowski was a very active member of the St. John’s Reformed Church in St. Johnsville, NY. She enjoyed the spaghetti dinners from the kitchen, the services, Sunday school and the many outreach programs she was involved in through the church. She understood the true gift of forgiving and did her best to pass that gift of love and wisdom to everyone she knew. She truly cherished her time spent with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren...always bringing a smile to her face.

She was a “Rockefeller” as she would always say when faced with any difficult situation! She was strong-willed, loving, forgiving, kind and a truly wonderful woman. She will be missed by all who knew her and loving memories will be carried on in the hearts of many. Survivors include her daughters, Pamela (Kenneth), Patricia(Ron) and Penelope(Randy); a son, Paul(Mary); her granddaughters, Amanda(Jason), Kayla, Carrie(Chris), Alison(Douglas), and Beverly: grandsons, Jonathan, Lee(Tina), Christopher, John(Lisa), Brian(Alex), Nicholas(Katherine), and Ethan; 27 great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Battisti; her Godson, Craig(Barbara Ann) Rockefeller and their children: Christopher, Leigh Cameron(Ben) and Mackenzie along with his two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Leslie, Gordon, David, George and Raymond Rockefeller.

A memorial service will be held later in the year at St. John’s Reformed Church on Main St., St. Johnsville later in the spring at a time to be announced. Burial will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. 518-568-7040.
