Fort Plain – Bernard W. (Bernie) Hudson, 65, of the Town of Minden, Fort Plain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the St. Johnsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side.

 He was born on November 4, 1956, in Little Falls, the son of Joan F. (Mitchell) Hudson and the late Robert P. Hudson, Sr. Bernie was educated in Fort Plain and Little Falls schools.

Mr. Hudson was a United States Army veteran, enlisting on December 29, 1973, and was honorably discharged on November 7, 1975, with the rank of Private First Class.

 For many years, Bernie was a Truck Driver for several construction agencies throughout the Mohawk Valley; Dibble Construction, Carney Trucking, Jablonski and BBL to name a few.

 Bernie was a loving and devoted, father, son, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed spending time with his family including his grand-dog Zeus. He also liked to visit with his friends in his garage. In his younger years, Bernie was an avid hunter, fisherman, and relaxed taking long motorcycle rides. He also enjoyed riding and racing snowmobiles.

 Survivors include his mother, Joan; his loving daughter, Kayla Brown and Tom Klock; Kayla’s mother, Cindi Bergen; his cherished grandson, Brady Brown; two sisters, Lorraine S. Dobrovolc and husband John and Deborah L. Lojba and husband Jas; an uncle, Ronald Hudson; brothers-in-law William Bergen and wife Tammy and Robert Bergen Sr. and wife Frida; and several special nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

 He was pre-deceased by his father, Robert Hudson Sr. and brother, Robert Hudson Jr.

 A graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:00 am at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Fordsbush, NY with full military honors accorded. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions in Bernie’s name to either, the St. Johnsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 7 Timmerman Ave., St. Johnsville, NY 13452 or to St. Johnsville EMS, Po Box 296, St. Johnsville, NY 13452.
