Town of Minden - Audrey M. Tabor, 79, a long time Fort Plain (Town of Minden) resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 4, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her dedicated care givers by her side.
She was born on November 12, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Klementovitch) Wood and was educated in Brooklyn schools.
She was married to G. Edward Tabor who preceded her in death on March 6, 1998.
Audrey was a talented organist and singer, paying in several band throughout the Mohawk Valley. Along with her talent as a singer and organist, Audrey was also a well-respected artist. She also was a housekeeper in the private sector.
Audrey has a special place in her heart for all animals. Over the years, she nurtured many types of animals and pets. At one time she started a cat rescue with the help of her many friends. In her younger years, Audrey enjoyed travelling, especially by train. In the summer months she enjoyed boating. In her later years, she found much relaxation trying her luck at the local casinos with her longtime friends, Jean Pickering and her late husband Keith Pickering.
She is survived by her daughter, June Dubois and husband Kirk and many longtime friends including her care givers, Jean, Nancy, Erica and Christine. She is also survived by her feline fur babies.
In keeping with Audrey's wishes, a graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Ames Cemetery, Ames, NY. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
