Arthur LaCoppola Obituary

 

St. Johnsville – Arthur J. LaCoppola, 84, a lifelong St. Johnsville resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023, at his home.

 He was born on May 17, 1938, in Little Falls, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Zindell) LaCoppola. Arthur was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and later attended Albany State.

 Mr. LaCoppola was a United States Army veteran, proudly serving his country.

 For many years, Arthur was owner and operator of the former LaCoppola Building Supplies in St. Johnsville.

 Art enjoyed spending time with his siblings and his nieces and nephews. He was an excellent cook and baker. His highlight was to prepare breakfast for his siblings every Sunday morning.

 Survivors include his siblings, Anne Thomas, Raymond LaCoppola, Frederick LaCoppola and wife Kathy and Margaret DeGiacomo all of St. Johnsville; a sister –in law, Emma LaCoppola of St. Johnsville; 40 nieces and nephews and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

 He was predeceased by his siblings, Baby Girl LaCoppola, William (Dorothy) LaCoppola, Franklin LaCoppola, Anthony (Josephine) LaCoppola, Joseph LaCoppola, Jr., Adelaide (Floyd) Battisti, and Rose (George) Jubar.

 The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. A prayer service will follow at 1:00 pm at the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Kenneth Swain, officiating. Spring interment with full military honors will take place at St. Johnsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice.
