Fort Plain - Arnold Raymond Johnson Jr. 62, of Fort Plain, NY passed away unexpectedly at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, NY on August 9, 2025.
Arnold was born on August 23, 1962, to Arnold and Maxine Johnson in Amsterdam, NY.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer and loved all animals. He enjoyed many passions including hatching, raising chickens and playing practical jokes on everyone. He loved making people laugh and helped anyone he could. His greatest joys in life were his children and his grandchildren, and he felt that they kept him young.
Arnold is survived by his children, Jessica Johnson (Brian), Arnold Johnson III (Brenda), Danielle Evans (Tadd), Stacy Trumbull (Jeremy), Jackie Royce, Amanda Johnson, Joseph Cook Sr. (Brittney), Alexandria Johnson, and Justin Johnson, his 19 grandchildren, Zoey, Annabelle, Shyanne, Hope, Jade, Cara, Tyler, Matthew, Grayson, Anderson, Caleb, Joe Jr., Lukas, Kali, Caleb, Aubree, Ma'Riyah, Nataleigh and Karolina; four great grandchildren, Connor, Layla, Logan, and Kameron; his siblings, Timothy Johnson (Christine), Tammy Van Valkenburgh (Emmett), Butch Johnson, Trish Battisti and his girlfriend Valerie Harris; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife Melissa.
In lieu of traditional services, Arnold’s children will be having a celebration of life for him on September 6, 2025 from 2 - 6 pm at 430 Indian Trail Road, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and honor Arnold’s life at that time.
