Mohawk - Angelo A. (Bart) Fazio, 86, of Mohawk passed away peacefully on Saturday August 7, 2021 at Little Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

 He was born December 4, 1934 in Herkimer the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Barbuto) Fazio. Bart was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1952.  He furthered his education at Utica College of Syracuse University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics.

 Mr. Fazio was a United States Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, enlisting on December 29, 1954 and was honorably discharged on December 5, 1956 with the rank of Private First Class.

 On January 24, 1959, Bart was united in marriage to Ruth C. Callahan at the Annunciation Church in Ilion. For over 30 years, Bart was employed at the former General Electric in Utica, where he worked in the Research and Development Department. He retired in 1993.

 Mr. Fazio was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk for over 50 years and also was an active member of the St. Anthony's Crusaders. He attended daily Mass at many of the local Catholic Churches.

 Bart was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, always placing the needs and concerns of his loved ones first. Bart enjoyed bowling, golfing, walking, camping, and gardening.  For over 25-years, he enjoyed winters in Florida. 

 Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth; three daughters, Kim (Jim) Fleming, Beth Ann (Julian) Clark, Christine (Christopher) Zecca a son, John (Julie) Fazio; two sisters, Lucy (Don) Giffune, Clarinda (Corky) Giammaria; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony (Jacey), Joseph, Troy (Natalie) Fazio; Andrew (Alexi), Adrienne, Peter Fleming, Preston, Mason, ReeseMary Clark, and Ethan, Rachele, Victor, Dominic, Zecca, one great-grand-daughter Raelyn Grace Fazio and several nieces and nephews.

 He was pre-deceased by sisters and brother-in-laws Angelina (Salvatore) Fiorentino, Dolores (Dave) Gardner, and Robert Giammaria.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at The Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY, 315-866-1500 from 4- 7 pm. A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, NY with Rev. Mark Cunningham officiating and assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, parish life director. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will take place at a later date.

 Donations can be made to Catholic Charities of Herkimer County, 61 West St., Ilion, NY 13357 or the American Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley, 235 N. Prospect St., Herkimer, NY 13350.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
