Altana C. Swank

St. Johnsville - Altana C. Swank, 92, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at her home.

She was born January 31, 1928, the daughter of the late George and Esther (Eckler) Tennant. Altana was a graduate of Van Hornesville High School and furthered her education at Alford College in Massachusetts.

Mrs. Swank was last employed at the former Daniel Green's Shoe Company in Dolgeville. At one time she was the owner and operator of Swank's Diner in St. Johnsville.

Altana was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, she always put the needs and concerns of her loved ones first. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making her family their favorite meals. In he leisure she enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with her friends.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Acovangelo of St. Johnsville; two grandsons, Jeremy (Lottie) Acovangelo and Cory (Danae) Acovangelo; three great grandchildren, Madison, Alexis and Ryland, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her son, Randy Acovangelo on March 21, 2020, and her siblings.

In keeping with Altana's wishes, funeral services will be private and held a the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY.
