Aaron J. Maher, a longtime resident of Boonville, passed away suddenly on July 8, 2022, in Guatemala where he loved spending time with his Guatemalan family.
Born on December 7, 1970, in Little Falls, he spent his early childhood in St. Johnsville moving to Boonville where he started his Kindergarten school year. After graduating from Adirondack Central School in 1989 he went on to MVCC where he studied graphic design.
In addition to his artistic talent, he also prided himself on his cooking skills and many meals were enjoyed by friends and family alike. Aaron spent many years working for a production company out of Syracuse that put-on concerts around the area, including the group Moe. He had a special connection with Stacey Waterman and Chuck Chao. Aaron had a special place in his heart for animals, his faithful companion Bob Barker went everywhere with him until he crossed the rainbow bridge in December 2019.
When Aaron was home, he spent time at the DJ 4H horse barn where he enjoyed spending time with the dogs and horses and helping Deb Hall with chores.
Aaron is the son of the late Alfred J. Maher (Alfie) and is survived by his mother Camille of Boonville, his sister Kelly Ann Lewis of Sherrills Ford, NC, nephews Andrew, James and John Lewis all of North Carolina. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Funeral arrangements are under the caring guidance of Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge),20 Bridge Street, St. Johnsville. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring or summer of 2023. Details will be forthcoming.
