St. Johnsville - Mildred C. "Millie" Walrath, 93 a long time St. Johnsville resident passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY.

She was born July 7, 1924 in St. Johnsville, NY the daughter of the late Leonard G and Mildred V (Austin) Walrath and was educated locally.

Millie worked at the former MDS in East Herkimer in the computer programming department. Prior to that, she was employed at Felt Shoe in Little Falls and Beech-Nut in Canajoharie.

Ms. Walrath was an active member of the Grace Christian Church in St. Johnsville and was the church organist for over 54 years. She was also a member of the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Millie was a blessed woman who knew the Lord, and her entire family adored her because of the love she bestowed on each one of them. She had a particular interest in reading and music and loved to play the piano and organ. Millie was a talented baker and enjoyed baking for her loved ones. A talented artist, Millie found much relaxation and enjoyment in painting.

Survivors include two daughters, Toni (James) Putnam of Fort Plain and Nell Thompson (Richard Euler) of Palatine Bridge; three grandchildren, James(Valerie) Hext of Caroga Lake, NY, Mitchell (Kim) Hext of St. Johnsville, and Christopher (Megan) Putnam of Fort Plain; 8 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by her brother, Martin Walrath.

A memorial service for Millie will take place on Saturday October 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Grace Christian Church, 20 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY. Burial at St. Johnsville Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
