Julia A. (Sudakow) Reals

Herkimer – Julia A. Reals, 71, a life long Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 27, 2019 at Oneida Healthcare Center, Oneida, NY with her loving and devoted family by her side.

She was born July 12, 1947 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Fiorentino) Sudakow and was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1965.

She was united in marriage to Andrew L. Reals on March 6, 1976 at the former St. Joseph’s Church in Herkimer.

Julia worked as a Medical Claims Adjuster for Met Life Insurance in Utica, until her retirement. After her retirement she enjoyed helping her cousin Sharon Ferdula, and Gail and Erb in their Estate Sales business.

Julia was a woman who dedicated her time to her community, she was an active member of the Herkimer VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was treasurer. She was always the first to help set up for parties at the VFW. She also cooked for the “Young of Hearts” in Frankfort. Julia was a passionate supporter for the Utica Relay for Life, arranging and donating several gift baskets for raffle. Foremost she was a loving and caring wife and sister, who always put the needs and concerns of her family first.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Andrew; her siblings, Lucy and Jack Evans, Joseph Sudakow, Harold and JoAnn Sudakow and Adeline and Jamie Wixson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and several aunts and uncles.

She was pre-deceased by a brother, Richard Sudakow and a sister-in-law, Linda (Rando) Sudakow.

A memorial service for Julia will take place on Thursday January 31, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Mohawk Reformed Church, 20 South Otsego St., Mohawk, NY with Reverend Brian Engel, officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500.
