James A. Green, 49, of North Street, Essex Junction, Vermont and a former Herkimer resident passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home after a long illness.
Jim was born November 12, 1968 in Ilion, NY the son of James Green and Marlene (Ramsey) Duesler.
He was an Executive Chef who enjoyed his position at the University of Vermont. In the past he served as a Firefighter with the Ilion Fire Department and in the most recent past had served the community of Essex Junction as both a Firefighter and EMT with the Essex Junction Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed western movies on TV as well as past episodes of Gunsmoke and Judge Judy.
He will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Jim is survived by his fiancé, Karen Sutton of Essex and two children, Brittany and Hunter of Haskell, OK; his stepchildren, Brandi and Jason of Milton, VT; seven grandchildren; his parents, Marlene and Ira (Sonny) Duesler of Herkimer, NY and James and Jean Green of Oviedo, FL; his brothers, Richard (Janet) Green of Lakeland, FL and David Green of Mohawk, NY. He also leaves his stepsister, Staci Capps of Oviedo, FL and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grand parents, Merle and Lena (Arca) Ramsey, his paternal grand parents, Martin and Elizabeth Ann Green; and two aunts, Debra Ramsey and Mary (Green) Dutcher.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Local arrangements are under the caring guidance of the family's friends and funeral directors, Vincent A. Enea and Michael A. Beran of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
