Herkimer - Frances M. Casullo, 78, a life long resident of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 10, 2017 at Albany Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.

She was born January 6, 1939 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (Manieri) Torcia, and was a graduate of Herkimer High School.

Her marriage to Patsy A. “Tuner” Casullo took place on January 26, 1957 at St. Anthony's Church in Herkimer. The couple shared a blessed union of 54 years, until the passing of Tuner on April 4, 2011.  Frances was last employed at Citizen Bank in Herkimer. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church.

Fran was a strong, independent woman who loved to be around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An excellent cook, she enjoyed preparing meals for her family, especially Sunday dinner, and there was always a seat at her kitchen table for anyone who stopped by.  Besides cooking, her favorite pastimes were reading and crossword puzzles, sunbathing, and traveling to the ocean.

Just this year, Fran attended her grandson Ben’s graduation from RPI, and saw him off to Virginia Tech.  In June, she was escorted by her grandson Nick on a trip to Colorado for her granddaughter Patty’s wedding day, where she was also overjoyed to be with granddaughter Ashley and great-grandchildren Kason and Myla.  And in September, she was a part of her grandson Nathaniel’s bar mitzvah celebration.

Francis is survived by her son Michael A. Casullo and wife Glenna of Aurora, Colorado; her two daughters, Patty Stovall and husband Gale of Herkimer, and Teresa Casullo - Mussman and husband Daniel of Altamont, NY; her loving grandchildren, Ashley (Paul) Cooke, Patty (Daniel) Boyer, Nicholas (Stephanie) Stovall, Benjamin Stovall and Nathaniel Mussman; two cherished great-grandchildren, Kason and Myla Cooke; two sisters, Tina Torcia of Rochester, NY and Carolyn Torcia of Herkimer; a sister-in-law, Vita Marino of North Utica; and her best friends and loving cousins Kathy Stalteri, Janet Andrews, and Shelly Manieri.

Relatives and friends may call at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany Street, Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500, on Tuesday December 19, 2017 from 5 - 7 pm. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday December 20, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Church with the Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, pastor, officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer will take place in the spring.

Because of Fran’s love of providing food for family and friends, contributions in her memory may be made to the Food Pantry at the Salvation Army, 429 N. Prospect Street, Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
