Elsie Mang Obituary

Richfield Springs - Elsie Mae Mang, 98, of State Route 28 (Town of Columbia), passed away on Saturday December 15, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born June 20, 1920 in Utica, NY the daughter of the late Peter and Mamie (Alamia) Cardarelli and was educated at Roscoe Conkling School in Utica, NY.

Her marriage to Charles F. Mang took place on August 29, 1942 at St. Agnes Church in Utica, NY. The couple shared a blessed union of 59 years until the passing of Charles on December 20, 2001.

A woman devoted to her family, Elise's life was centered around her loved ones. Elsie always put the need of her family first. She enjoyed cooking and whenever someone stopped to see her they always were greeted with a smile, refreshments and uplifting conversation. She had a strong faith in her Lord and was felt blessed for her family and friends. She was a praying woman who continually kept her family, friends and neighbors in her prayer circle. She loved reading from the Book of Psalms, music and was always singing.

In her earlier years she enjoyed crocheting and tending to her flower gardens. Over the years she found much enjoyment sitting on her front porch watching the birds nesting in her trees. She spent a lot of quality time going through photos, cards and letters (that were perfectly organized) reminiscing over the years  Elsie will be sadly missed by her loved ones.
