Donald Ingerham

Herkimer - Donald R. Ingerham, Sr., 75 of Herkimer passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 7, 2018 at St. Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford, NY with his loving family by his side.

He was born October 4, 1942 in Herkimer the son of the late Albert and Rose (Tamburro) Ingerham. Don was educated in Sauquoit schools.

Until his retirement, Don was employed as a mechanic at Oriskany Garage in Utica, NY.

His marriage to Dorothy Mason took place on December 4, 1965 in Herkimer.

Donald was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, who's life was centered around his loved ones. He loved family gatherings and always welcomed anyone into his home for coffee and conversation. A man fascinated with old classic cars, he along with his wife Dorothy enjoyed going to all the classic car shows throughout the valley. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed his trips to the Fonda Speedway and the Utica Rome Speedway.

Donald and his wife Dorothy loved going for day long drives and just ending up at a beach or lake if even just to sit and share a hotdog and people watch. Besides husband and wife they were best friends, and true soul mates.

He was pre-deceased by his son, Donald R. Ingerham, Jr. on May 5, 2017.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy; two daughters, Corenna (Todd) Perkins of Oneida and Dixie Ingerham of Herkimer; two sons, Darrell (Hope) Ingerham and Dale (Joni) Ingerham both of Herkimer; two sisters, Dolores Smith and Nancy Krouse both of Herkimer; three brothers, Thomas Ingerham of Frankfort, Anthony (Kathy) Ingerham of Herkimer and James (Sue) Ingerham of Mohawk; 12 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Don's life will be held on Saturday April 7, 2018 from 2 to 5 pm at the Herkimer Polish Community Home on South Washington Street.

Arrangements have been entrusted with caring guidance to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
