Myra Rymko Obituary

Myra Rymko, 94, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024. She was born on February 15, 1930, to her parents Nicholas and Mary Petrochko at 10 AM as church bells rang for the holy day, Meeting of the Lord in the Temple. She grew up in Olyphant, PA and attended All Saints Russian Orthodox Church where she sang in the choir. Her love for music and singing continued all her life and was a joy she cultivated in her children and grandchildren.

Myra began her working career in a sewing factory for Barbizon, a women's clothing company, where she developed sewing skills that led to exceptional talent for home and family projects. After marrying and moving away to New Jersey, she began a career at Johnson & Johnson as a customer service representative. Myra received a great deal of recognition for her ability to work under pressure reassuring customers in the medical supplies department.

Myra's greatest blessing was her family. She spent her life devoted to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a powerful and loving force for the family and her memory will always remain in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Mary and Vladimir Rymko; her granddaughters, Nicole Griatzky, Michele (Shane) Rumbaugh, Larissa (Kyle) Heise, and Alexandra Rymko; her great-grandchildren, Alexei, Kalissa, Kira and Anisia Zaikoff, Adalynn and Ridge Rumbaugh, Alexander and Alaina Heise; and her sister, Alice Petrochko, 96. In addition to her parents, Myra was preceded in death by her sons, Nicholas and George Rymko; her granddaughter, Xenia Mitzen; her brothers, Daniel and Dr. Nicholas Petrochko; and her beloved dog, Wimsy.

She will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Monastery cemetery. Arrangements are by the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to Hannaford Markets), 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY.
