Ilion – Shelley M. Dabro, 55, of Ilion passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Thursday January 11, 2018.

She was born April 13, 1962 in Ilion the daughter of Betty Jane (Harter) Neale and the late Larry Neale. Shelley was a graduate of Mt. Markham High School.

She was married to Keith Dabro who preceded her in death on November 23, 2016.

Shelley was last employed as a Home Health Aide and Companion for the elderly at Roman’s Visiting Angels in Utica, NY.  At one time she worked at Finn’s Eatery in Alexandria Bay, NY.

 A woman devoted to her family, Shelley’s life was centered on her loved ones, especially the quality time she spent with her loving and cherished grandchildren. She was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Shelley enjoyed giving back to her community by volunteering her time at the Deerfield Fire Department and working their weekly fish fry dinners.

Survivors include her loving mother, Betty Jane Neale and her companion Dan Loomis of Ilion; two devoted sons, Justin W. Buckley and wife Candice of Guyton, Georgia, and Carl G. Buckley and fiancée Delilah Montes of Utica; two cherished grandchildren, D’Carlo S. Buckley and Shelby J. Buckley; two brothers, Scott N. Neale and Kevin A. Thorn both of Syracuse; an aunt, Helen Joan Taylor and husband Bernie of West Winfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her close family, Brenda Gonzales, Analee Greer, Mary Buckley – Nicolette and Steve Worden.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday January 18, 2018 from 5 – 7 pm at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY, 315-866-1500. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contribution to the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department, 5476 Trenton Road, Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
