Herkimer - Record Leo Trivitt, 34, of Herkimer, NY, passed away November 8, 2016. He was a passionate musician, born July 27,1982 in Salem, Arkansas, the son of Virginia Tullock and Oscar Trivitt. Record was raised solely by his mother and attended Ilion Junior Senior High School.

Record struggled many years with physical health problems, living in emotional and physical pain on a daily basis. To complicate matters he suffered greatly with mental health issues and drug addiction. Record fought very hard to overcome the many challenges that plagued his adult years but sadly, his struggles became more than he could bear, and he took his own life.

Record began playing guitar as a young teen and made many friends near and far through his love of music. One of his greatest loves was following jam bands on tour, such as The Grateful Dead and Phish. Record may have loved the people he met on these trips even more than the music. While the music he played connected him to many, his charming, comedic, lovable and hysterically sarcastic personality won him even more friends (and fans, and even groupies of his own!). And, he wouldn't want us to leave out his good looks... he stole the hearts of many ladies.

Record also made quite an impression as a child. We have heard from people as far back as first grade, sharing wonderful memories and expressing their sadness at his passing. And friends from his adult years have contacted his family- so many! Record is anything but forgettable. He was a joy to his friends and family, gracing them with the entertainment and joy his humorous personality provided.

Before Record discovered his love of music he spent his younger childhood years immersed in role playing his favorite movies, Superman (ALL of them), Back to the Future, and Indiana Jones. With a collection of props and an old pajama Superman cape he found great joy becoming his favorite characters and entering their worlds, all the while warming his family's hearts. Even at this very sad time he is providing them with laughter as they look back at these cherished memories.

Those who knew Record are familiar with his love of and connection to the spiritual symbol and sacred sound of Om (Aum). Now it will be what many remember him by and perhaps coming to understand it will help to further understand who he was and what he was searching for throughout his life. Taking after his mother, Record was an artistic and creative person, most recently taking up crocheting which she had the pleasure of teaching him.

There are very many people that will forever miss him, all of whom feel so fortunate to have had him as a family member and friend for the years they were gifted by his presence. Record leaves behind his mother, Virginia Tullock: one sister, Christie Kwon; two brothers, Benjamin Smith and Evan Tullock. With the assistance of his mother's great friend, Do'an Prajna, who is a Buddhist abbot and teacher, the family, will gather privately on November 19, 2016 to mourn their loss and say goodbye as they wish him well for wherever this next journey takes him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany Street, Herkimer, NY.
