Herkimer – Raymond M.K. Pinney – Strand, 29, of Herkimer passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 19, 2017 from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Schuyler.

He was born in the Bronx, NY on July 2, 1987 to Shirlena Mays and the late Marvin Strand. Raymond was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales School and Herkimer High School, class of 2005. He attended Herkimer County Community College and also the University of Phoenix.

Raymond was employed at Denny’s in Herkimer and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was a man truly devoted to his family and his life was centered around his loved ones. The times he found to be the most precious was when he was with his son, Marrel.

Survivors include, a son, Marrel Levi Thomas Pinney; his loving mother, Shirlena; four brothers, Marvin, Marvelle, Zeke and Malik; two precious sisters, Sabrina and Shaquetta; one dear nephew, Cincere; two aunts, Joyce and Lillie; two uncles, Raymond and Greg; a most caring cousin, Shannette Bynum and family; Godparents, Thomas and Mary Beth Germann and God siblings, Richard and Bethany; and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday March 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Christ Episcopal Church, corner of Main and Mary Street, Herkimer, NY with The Reverend Jill Stellman, officiating. Fellowship will follow after the services where the family will be receiving relatives and friends at the church hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (Next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500. Please consider all memorial contributions to Raymond’s family for the trust fund of his son, Marrel.
