HERKIMER - On January 25, 2017, Paul, age 59, passed away into the arms of God, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born at 2:10pm, on March 27, 1957, Paul was the son of the late Albert and Barbara (Holleran) LaPorte. As the sixth of eight children, he appreciated the importance of family.

As a graduate of the Herkimer Class of 1975, he created friendships that have lasted till this day.

On July 3,1977, Paul and the love of his life, Angela Fusco, were married. Their unconditional love produced a bond of great strength and endless devotion to one, another.

Paul's strongest gifts of humbleness and warmth, instilled into his three children, Gregory, Beth and Luke, never to be judgmental and to accept everyone with open hearts and minds. He also emphasized the beauty of the little moments, to cherish them and remember them to move forward. His sense of humor, infectious smile, and hard work ethic are and always will be a part of his children's lives.

Paul lived life to its fullest. He was a man of many facets; energetic, funny, kind, giving, helpful, loving and resilient.

He coached basketball, baseball and softball for many years, producing State Championship teams. He loved to play golf. He was an avid sports fan of SU Basketball and the NY Yankees. He was a Fine Carpenter, Known Antiquer, Furniture Refinisher, and Home Refurbisher.

He loved nature; fine food; music, especially Crosby Stills and Nash; World History; his booths at the Mohawk Antique Mall; and his annual setup at Bouckville.

His favorite of all, was to spend time with his dog and best buddy, Duke. Their daily bond to go to Brookwood Park, the Fishing Derby or anywhere where they could walk and play was priceless.

Paul is survived by his best friend and love, Angela. His son, Gregory; his daughter, Beth and son-in-law Daniel Harris; and his son Luke. His dog, Duke. His mother-in-law, Olga Fusco (Herkimer); his step mother, Georgette LaPorte (Herkimer); his siblings, Timothy (Karen) LaPorte (Delaware); Mary (Fred) Hight (Florida); Kathy (Greg) VanValkenburg (Ilion); Mike (Jamie) LaPorte (Newport); Gary LaPorte (Herkimer); Patrick (Barb) LaPorte (Mohawk).
