Paul H. Briele, 55 of Constantia, NY and a former resident of St. Johnsville, passed away peacefully on Friday November 10, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Syracuse, NY with his loving family by his side.

Paul was born July 16, 1962 in Buffalo, NY the son of Paul A. and Patricia A. (Softy) Briele. He graduated from St. Johnsville High School, class of 1980. He furthered his education, earning his associates degree from Morrisville State College in 1982 and his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from SUNY IT in Utica, NY in 1984.

His marriage to Lola J. Stinson took place on November 24, 1988 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in St. Johnsville by Reverend David Ellis.

Paul was employed as a Computer Programmer for the United Health Group/POMCO in Syracuse, NY. Prior to this, he worked at the former Coyne Textile Services also in Syracuse.

Paul was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Constantia, NY, where he served as a lay minister and most recently holding the position of treasurer on the church board.

Paul was a generous soul and maintained a close relationship with those he loved, making him a caring and devoted, Father, Husband, Son, Brother and was affectionately called "Pa" by his grandson. You could always find Paul playing cards, fishing, playing a relaxing game of golf or enjoying watching an array of TV shows and sports. He was an avid follower of baseball, football and the Syracuse Orange. Paul loved to cook, especially for his family and for all the family functions earning him the title of Chef Boy.

Survivors include his wife, Lola; his parents, Paul A. and Patricia A. Briele of St. Johnsville; a daughter, Jessica L. (Theodore) DeLelys of West Monroe, NY; a son, Alexander P. Briele of Liverpool, NY; his cherished grandson, Nathan; two brothers, James H. Briele of Schenectady, NY and Peter J. (Rhonda) Briele of Palatine Bridge; a sister Joan M. McMurray of Schenectady; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours for Paul will take place on Thursday November 16, 2017 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040. Funeral service for Paul will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend David Johnson, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. Johnsville, NY officiating. Burial will follow at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. After the services at the cemetery the family would like to invite Paul's relatives and friends at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. All memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 32 West Main St., St. Johnsville, NY 13452 or to Trinity Episcopal Church, PO Box 124, Constantia, NY 13044. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
