Little Falls – Michele M. Long, 56, of the Town of Fairfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday June 20, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital.

She was born February 17, 1957 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Michael & Anne (Maliniak) Sokerka. Michele was a graduate of West Canada High School, class of 1974 and also graduated from Herkimer County Community College.

Her marriage to Richard Long took place on March 20, 1982 in Herkimer, NY.

Mrs. Long was last employed at the West Canada Valley School system.

With family as her foremost priority, Michele was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.  In addition to her family, Michele made a difference in the lives of all those she touched, and in turn they made a difference in her life.  And for those who had the opportunity to know Michele she would want her friends, family, and loved ones to hear “Go Mets!”

Survivors include her loving husband of 31 years, Richard; two sons, Jeff Osley and fiancé Courtney of Cleveland, Ohio and Chris Long and wife Holli of Attleboro, Mass.; a daughter, Tiffany McGivern of Little Falls; a brother, John Sokerka and wife Liz of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; a sister, Maryanne Mamrosch and husband Edmund of Dolgeville; 4 grandchildren, Matthew and Lily Osley, Vivian Long and Hunter McGivern; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by a brother, Paul David Sokerka in 1970.

In keeping with Michele’s wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
