Herkimer - Kristin M. Cool, 40, of Herkimer passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 12, 2017.

She was born September 27, 1976 in Little Falls the daughter of Frederick Cool and Margaret M. (Peggy) Murphy Cool.  Kristin attended St. Francis de Sales School and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. In 2003 she graduated from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing.

She worked at various healthcare facilities and enjoyed several traveling nurse opportunities.

Kristin will be remembered for the love and devotion she had toward her son, family,  and special friends.  She was a kind, loving, and dedicated person that ensured a lifetime of happy memories for those she held close to her heart.  She had a passion for softball and was an outstanding athlete during her high school years. Kristin had a special way of always bringing a smile to your face.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret (Peggy) Cool of Herkimer; her father, Fred Cool and wife Donna of Herkimer; a son, Jason Durantes, Jr., of Herkimer; a brother; Todd Cool; sister Shannon; nephews, Cody Cool and Tyler James; Aunts, Patricia Murphy of Johnson City, Tennessee, Paula (David) Fritschi of Middleville and Theresa Cool of Virginia; Uncle, John (Gigi) Grubner of Fernandina Beach, Florida; cousins, Christine (Ben) Anderson, JB (Natalya) Grubner, Jacquelyn Grubner, Christian Fritschi, Noelle Fritschi, Ryan Cool and Scott Cool and their families.

She was pre-deceased by her cousins, James Grubner and Michael Fritschi

A memorial service will be held on Thursday August 17, 2017 at 6:00 pm from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany Street, Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500. the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday August 17, 2017 from 4:00 pm until the time of the services.  Burial at Wilmurt Cemetery, Town of Ohio will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
