St. Johnsville – Joan A. Battisti, 63, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown with her devoted family by her side.

She was born December 5, 1952 in Little Falls the daughter of Adelaide (LaCoppola) Battisti and the late Fiorino Battisti. Joan was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School.

Joan was last employed at Richardson Brands Company in Canajoharie. Prior to that she worked at Robinson and Smith Dry Cleaners in Gloversville for over 12 years.

She was a devout member of the former St. Patrick’s Church in St. Johnsville.

Joan’s life was centered around her loved ones. More than anything else, she loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her close circle of family and friends. Joan took much pride in her homemade candies that she made for holidays and special occasions.

Survivors include her mother, Adelaide of St. Johnsville; her loving significant other of 43 years, Lucy Montanye; three brothers, Francis Battisti and wife Loretta, David Battisti and wife Theresa and Robert Battisti and wife Patricia all of St. Johnsville; four sisters, Jean Mitchell and husband Frederick of Amsterdam, Carol Ann Battisti of Ithaca, Mary Frollo and husband Mike of Tribes Hill, NY and Rose Sammons and husband John of Little Falls. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and several aunts and uncles.

She was pre-deceased by a sister, Dorothy Battisti.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday November 5, 2016 from 11:00 am until the time of the services. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family has asked that all memorial contributions be made to either the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to Albany Medical Center, Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
