Ilion - Gloria Devereese, 71, a long time Ilion resident, passed away on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at St. Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford, NY with her loving family by her side.

She was born June 18, 1946 in Ilion the daughter of the late Arnold S. and Mary (Enright) Miller. Gloria was a graduate of Ilion High School and at the age of 60, enrolled in the certified home health aide program through BOCES in Herkimer.

Gloria was employed as a home health aide for Bassett Healthcare in Herkimer, NY. Prior to that she worked many years as a waitress for the former Chet's Diner in Herkimer.

Gloria's life was centered around her loved ones, proving herself a loving and caring mother and sister. She had a special place in her heart for her fur baby, Widget. Gloria enjoyed playing games of her computer and trying her luck with her weekly visits to the Turning Stone Casino.

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Devereese of Williamstown, NY and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Warchol of Williamstown, NY;  two sons, Thomas Devereese of Ilion and Christopher Devereese of Ilion; brothers, John (Jean) Miller of Gilroy, CA and Michael (Mary Lou) Miller of Cold Brook, NY; sisters, Susan (Mark) Hoover of Ilion, Sandra (Charles) Moore of Ilion and Karen (Harold) Seelbach of Mohawk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special aunt, Beverly Firman.

She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Arnold, Ronald, Mark, and Dennis Miller and a sister, Barbara Miller.

In keeping with Gloria's wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to NBT Bank), 527 East Albany St., Herkimer, NY 315-866-1500.
