St. Johnsville – Elizabeth Louise “Betty” (Snell) Haak, 84, of St. Johnsville passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday February 8, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born on September 12, 1932, the daughter of the late Margaret and Everett Flanders. She was educated in the St. Johnsville School District.

She was employed at the former Palatine Dye Co. in St. Johnsville, then worked at the former Little Falls Footwear in St. Johnsville. After her retirement she did home health care for the elderly.

She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and also found much enjoyment visiting the local casinos.

Survivors include her husband Richard Haak; her children, Jeanne (Snell) Battisti and husband Paul of St. Johnsville, Christopher Snell and wife Colleen of St. Johnsville, Richard Haak of North Carolina, Robin (Haak) Foster and Jeff Obie of St. Johnsville, and Tracy Haak of St. Johnsville. She also leaves behind her step-children, Kenneth Haak and wife Margo of Billings, Montana, Sheryl (Haak) Ursi and husband Carl of St. Johnsville and Doreen (Haak) Boyer and wife Debbie of Congers, NY; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Fay (Snell) Przestrzelski, a granddaughter, Jessica L. Eckert and a great granddaughter, Zowie M Patterson .

Graveside services will be held in the spring at Brown Cemetery in the Town of Oppenheim. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (Next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY. All memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078.
