St. Johnsville - Cynthia Button, 68, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Fulton Rehabilitation Center in Gloversville NY, following a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Jeanette Abbott, her step-father, Bob Abbott, and her live-in companion and ward, Robert Shalom.
Cindy (as she was known by her friends), born on July 16, 1947, was a warm and giving person. She loved animals and cared for horses, cats and dogs, and was always active with friends exploring or in book clubs. On her last days, she was making plans for the future.  
Cindy took in Robert in 1979 as a private care patient. They became very close friends over the course of 37 years of care. Everyone who knew her felt an attachment with her.
She will be sorely missed, but not forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Friday July 8, 2016 at 1:30 pm from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Vermont.
