Herkimer - Alberta J. Covell, 75 of Herkimer passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born December 20, 1942 in Poughkeepsie, NY the daughter of the late Vincent and Alberta (Davis) Nittiskie and was educated locally.

Her marriage to Eugene Covell took place on August 5, 2006 in Ilion, NY.

Alberta was last employed as a CNA for the St. Johnsville Nursing Home.

Survivors include her; loving husband for 11 years, Eugene; her loving children, Ann Bravick and husband (Bill) of Crestview, Florida, Charles Quackenbush of Gloversville,   Kim Frasier of Herkimer, James Quackenbush and wife (Melissa) of Dolgeville,  and  two brothers, Larry Smith of St. Johnsville, and Gilbert Smith and wife (Janet) of Ilion; her cherished grandchildren Jessica Pendleton and husband (Michael) of San Antonio, TX, Joshua Weaver and wife (Ciera) of Fayetteville, NC,  Michael Quackenbush and girlfriend (Kayla) of Gloversville, Corey Quackenbush and wife (Stephanie) of California, Ashlei Morelli of Gloversville, Samantha Frasier of Dolgeville, and Emily Frasier of Dolgeville,   9 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Mervin Covell; and several nieces & nephews, and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Matthew James Quackenbush.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 12, 2018 at 7:00 pm from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY 518-568-7040. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday January 12, 2018 from 5:00 pm until the time of the services.
